There's been a lot of talk about free speech when it comes to the question of the Cartoons of Mohamed with a bomb as a turban and the like.
I'd just like to say that there is something that comes as a given to 'free speech' and that is Maturity and elementary morality. If you are given something as valuable as to be able to speak your mind and say whatever you feel. it is important to take into account other people's feelings and sacred beliefs.
The free press (or anyone with such a large voice) has no right to insult millions of people and their beliefs and then use free speech as shield. It's not put there as a weapon but as an elementary freedom of a free society and should be treated with maturity.
The free press are like children in the way they have handled this case. I also hear the British Nationalist Party are using the cartoons and exercising their right to free speech too. We all know they have no sense of morality or no care for other people's feelings anyway so it's lost on those fascists...

Im even hearing some republicans spouting the same crap blair and the rest of the europe is,how can these people be republicans?

Good point RF32. It's in the Capitalist nature of the British Government to be hypocrites or as P.H. Pearse put it 'Tyrants, hypocrites, liars!', I wonder would things been different if he were Chief as he wasn't an open socialist like Connolly but did recognise the tyranny of Imperialism. Many 'leaders' say many things to get into power, once their in, they do everything BUT help the people.
I know what you mean about getting worked up, I'm the same. You wonder how people can be so blind, but some aren't as blind as you might think. I think there's hope for everyone, you just have to draw it out.
