CAMP PENDLETON, California, October 9.— The jailers at the United States prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba openly brag about their routine beatings of prisoners accused of terrorism, said a Marine sergeant in a statement obtained by AP.
The use of torture is widely rejected within the United States.
The two-page sworn statement was sent Wednesday to the inspector general's office at the Department of Defense by a Marine defense lawyer in the name of the sergeant, a paralegal.
The woman said that on September 23 she met a group of men at a bar on the Guantanamo Base who identified themselves as prison guards. The woman, whose name wasn’t made public, said she spent an hour talking with them.
"A 19-year-old sailor referred to only as Bo told the other guards and me about him beating different detainees being held in the prison," the sergeant said in her statement.
"One such story Bo told involved him taking a detainee by the head and hitting the detainee's head into the cell door. Bo said that his actions were known by others," the statement said.
She added that he was never punished.
The US Naval Base and its prison camp are located on occupied Cuban territory at Guantanamo Bay, on the eastern part of the island.

I hope the people who miss-educate them and give them the 'freedom' to do this, pay first.
