Any reports news, videos or eyewitness from Croke Park please post here. I hope the English are shown they are not wanted here at the home of Gaelic games. I am sure there will be a number of protests. This is more of what they call normalisation.

By the way I do no oppose Rugby itself I am a sports fan myself. Its the fact that they are going to fly the England flag over Croke Park and sing God Save the Queen on the same spot as 14 Irish people were shot by the English. Hill 16's foundations are also built on rubble from the Easter 1916 Rising.

I missed the good bit - the anthem - was there any signs of dissent when "god save the queen" was played? - booing etc etc?

It remained quiet, no booing. In a way I think it was a tactic not to lower ourselves to their level.

I've no problem with working class English players in Croker, it's the British Imperialist Anthem being played and the Britt politicians thinking they've some right there. This 'we're moving on' s*** is a joke and is a way of cementing a Britt/Irish Capitalist friendship. Free for business and the Gov's to suck all the money out of our hardworking pockets.
I could find nothing on any news channel about any dissent even though I spoke, even to right wingers, who were upset by the Anthem being played. Opposition black outs once again. Damn the media and their blind eyes.
I'm tired of seeing rich money grabbing politicians, arrive in their big cars with their bodyguards and holiday homes bought with working people's taxes, talking about being 'sensible' and 'moving on'. Is it sensible to accept Imperialism? Is it sensible to accept a sectarian and biased rule of law that outlaws homosexuality, that outlaws dissent? I think a true act of 'moving on' would be smashing fascism, smashing homophobia and smashing neo-liberalism!
If indeed Irish people are 'moving on', then the Governments have succeeded in making fools of us and Irish people have forgotten that their pockets are empty, they can't afford homes and are stuck in traffic every day because of the actions of both Governments. Ruling by Fooling once again (to quote James Connolly). Smash the Governments! Self determination for working people!

Sorry Caoimhain, I was not having a go at the normal working class fans or players. I was just thinking of the upper class idiots in across England having a good grin.
You made some very good points there also. I do agree that the capitalists both here in Ireland and England are forging stonger bonds together.

Sorry if I sounded like I was having a go at you ;D You made some very good points there also. I do agree that the capitalists both here in Ireland and England are forging stonger bonds together. You're right. It's all in their own interest at the expense of the working people. Smash them!
