Well said by Noel Murphy.
What gets me about the IWU is how hard it is to get in touch with them. I'm in the Union and I've never heard a peep out of them besides when I've actually physically rang them myself but I don't want to be doing that on trivial, less important matters. The question how is, how are they supposed to communicate with their members and how are members supposed to communicate with each other? I'd like to set up a branch in my area or I'd like to build some sort of social network where IUW workers could communicate with each other and learn from each other but I'm not sure if I'd have the permission to do that or if the HQ would be upset that I've taken it upon myself to do that but I don't know as I can't get in contact with them on less important matters like this. Also, I know there are meetings every month I think but the meetings are about 60km from where I live so its hard for me to get there. A branch closer to where I am would be ideal as I'd be able to actually get to the meetings.
I've emailed them many times and sent messages through their website about these issues but have never received a response. Which is unfortunate because I would like to get involved.
If there are any IWU members who might wonder upon this post maybe they could shine some light on the subject?
Comradely, PC.

I think the union would really welcome something like that. Even a forum or something. It would really distinguish it from the way other unions are run and communicate.
