A new union magazine has been started in conjunction with the ICTU.

ICTU are paying lip service to workers in Ireland. Any revolutionary congress of trade unions of the size of the above would have the Government on their knees by now. The ICTU will ensure that the Government gain control over the minds of the working class and continue to oppress us. The unions involved in the ICTU have to make it look like they are the friends of the workers in order to eventually crush dissent. It is a tactic used by Government often in recent times. Why do you think they have so many private meetings with Government? No offence comrade but I say burn this publication! Don't buy into the watered-down socialism of the congress. More support should be given to unions OUTSIDE the ICTU.

I think all those meetings they have with IBEC and the government should be recorded and avalible on the internet for union members to see. Its all behind closed doors. God knows whats going on behind the scenes.

Id also like to know the exact structure of the unions. I think the structure of decision making and power are key to the failures of the unions.

Exactly, I agree with you. But while we're on the subject, whist Government functions (which I completely oppose) why aren't all the Government's secret meetings recorded also. If they have nothing to hide why don't they be transparent with the people whose lives are in their control.

I think it's a disgrace that honest hard-working trade unionists in the smaller unions are getting feck all pay for their very hard work, yet David Begg and all those other fat cat trade unionists (an oxymoron) are making a career out of it but they're doing feck all for the workers. More support for the revolutionary unions!
