This is how people are of the opinion that the state, a mechanism of mass violence, is legitimate. Its given a 'human face' all the time. We can see them, hear their voices, hear their views. I noticed in the programme there on an INLA informer that former INLA members were given such a priviledge. They were not simply people behind masks, spoken for by a news report. They were human, and portrayed as such.
