The Apprentice was "probably the most anticipated programme in our autumn schedule", he said.
The 14 candidates in the show will face businessman Bill Cullen, his partner Jackie Lavin and entrepreneur Brian Purcell across the boardroom table as they compete for a position with Mr Cullen.
The series is scheduled to begin in late September.

'Rich' people don't get where they are without exploiting their workers. Cutting wage costs, making workers work longer hours, selling worthless junk to customers, treating ignorant workers like s*** when said workers don't know what to do about it, these are the only ways to get 'rich' in a capitalist run society.
Now TV3 are making a show that glorifies wealthy business people and their methods who exploit their fellow people and put themselves on a pedestal in order to claw their way out of the impoverished masses whilst they leave the rest behind without a care.
Some may think I'm sounding bitter here but if we don't stand together against the Government who protect these business people our only achievement will be a failed rebellion in 1916 and failed war of independence and a country full of underpaid, uneducated, impoverished workers with RFID chips implanted in our hands. I don't know about the rest here but I certainly don't want that future for our kids.
Instead of exploiting, just like the Government want them to, these people should be standing tall alongside the masses and smashing the Government in order to make everyone rich.
In any economy where there is no over-class there is no under-class.
