R.P.A.G. Belfast white line protest a success. A Chara on the 9th of september the Republican Prisoners Action Group held a white line protest in support of the P.O.Ws in Maghaberry Jail. Over fifty activists lined the center of the falls road handing out leaflets holding banners and selling the Republican news paperSaoirse, the response from the residents of the falls road and the traffic was outstanding, over 2000 leaflets were distributed outlining the reasons for the Prison protest and the demands the prisoners are making. A large sum of money was also collected and over 100 copies of the Freedom press Saoirse was sold. The speakers included a P.O.Ws Mother and the main oration was delivered by Tony Mc Phillips the Chairperson of the Republican Prisoners Action Group. Mr Mc Phillips said that todays Prisoners were fighting for the rights won for Republican Prisoners by theHungerstrikers and so cowardly sold away by so called Republicans when they signed the Good Friday Agreement, he said the P.O.Ws were steadfast in their determination to see the Protest through to its conclusion which he said would be the realisation of their demands he called on every one who claimed to be Irish Republicans to Support the Prisoners and their support group the Republican Prisoners Action Group.
