Fathers’ rights protestors scale M50 toll plaza 12/06/2008 - 09:50:30
Three men have mounted a protest on top of the M50 toll plaza in Dublin calling for better rights for unmarried fathers.
The protest began just after 6am and gardaí are currently at the scene trying to coax the men down.
The demonstrators are vowing to remain on top of the toll plaza until an official from the Department of Justice agrees to meet them.

I just spoke with Ray Kelly Father's 4 justice, as i have had to use his services myself in the past, and he has informed me that he has succesfully mediated for the 3 men to come down, on the basis that the dept of justice will facilitate for a public inquiry into how the whole family law court system operates, better training for judges, the scrappage of the no fault divorce process, equality for men, and the implimentation of the UN rights of the childrens convention.

Your probably right, i posted it there to target individuals who might, want to express oppinion due to personal experiences of this problem as there is a lot of bias towards unmarried Fathers inparticular, and the courts are as corrupt as can be, this in effect causes a lot of social problems

Oh I agree AC.
But I wonder would women feel the same? - they would probably feel that they are entitled to more regarding children. Im not sure now as I dont have any statistics on this but just assuming. It is unfair of course bu woman might not think so.
We dont want an all-male socialist movement ;D

I have the statistics on this but it is done out in graph formation, and it is a bit hard to put into percentage, but i might be able to give it a go, down the line, on tommorows protest, won't be able to make it due to distance myself, but it will be attended by the mens,Mothers, Grannies, aunts, sisters, daughters, girlfriends, and i must mention in some cases boyfriends , this is hurting all of society, and it contributes in a major way on the suicide stats.

Hope therll be a good turnout.
Just thinkin there, it was probably a very bad time to stage such a protest aseeing as coverage would be VERY limited bacause of the Lisbun treaty.
Could have put it off a week or two to get the attention it deserves!

Most of the access orders are made for Saturdays and this Sunday is Fathers day, so this weekend is the best time to highlight it. That was some sickener for them all, with the Lisbon rejection ;D, even the bookies lost, the odds were good, i should have took a bet when you posted them a couple of weeks ago, will post a resonce on the new thread on it later on.

I thought the guys who broke into Buckingham Palace last year staged a great protest. Got a lot of coverage and it was totally out of nowhere. I think they were dressed up as batman and robin also?

Thats right, the men in Britain really stepped their campaign up a few gears, they even got into the house of commons and threw the purple baking powder, or whatever it was at Blair, the family law courts over there are changing toward being equal, and are putting the children 1st in all cases, here 88 percent of custody cases go to the mother's, even if she works and the father doesnt, the kids are then left with every tom, dick, and harry, even when the fathers are available, this is causing alcoholism suicide and every social problem there is. 96 perecent of the homes are going to the women aswell. so it is a big subject, that needs to be addressed, and the legal proffession in general, are adding fuel to the fires, by deliberatly not resolving disbutes, to get more fees, which usually the men have to pay, and in most even if they did not cause the dispute/divorce.
