This is a first draft and it will sound better with music so give some constructive criticisms if you can. Cheers.

The Major's Son
by Papa C.
(played to the tune of 'which side are you on')
I grew up in a loyalist town where loyalist you will be
and if you choose your freedom a foe you choose to be
My father was a Major and aide to Paisely
But I have chosen freedom for those in my country
I chose to join the IRA and fight for democracy
In order to create it tyrants we must defeat
They force divides upon us and build their tyranny
Now they do it everywhere from Iraq to the Coral Sea
They jailed me in the h-blocks interned without a crime
Like many of my comrades we all did serve our time
They left us in our prison cells soon tried to criminalise
Where our comrades still inside here died on the hunger strike
I left to join my comrades and build the IRSP
Then I chose to fight hard with friends in the INLA
My family I've forsaken my people I do love
so I'll dare to fight our rulers - the tyrants up above
Fighting for our freedom
Fighting for my land
Destruction of our rulers
The cause is in our hands
We want to build democracy
We wanted to be free
Won't settle for a sell out
No British Colony
They choose to take our freedom and use it for themselves
But now we have the weapons to win our rights aswell
we've fought with talk and hunger strikes, protests and arms aswell
We'll fight until our victory and send them back to hell
They call it a democracy to fool us so we serve
But we will not be brainwashed the cause is in our hands
They fool us with their news and teach us to protect their wealth
We're here to teach the working class that they are more than slaves.
Fighting for our freedom
Fighting for my land
Destruction of our rulers
The cause is in our hands
We want to build democracy
We wanted to be free
Won't settle for a sell out
No British Colony
They shot me down in my own home along with my young wife
They tried to blame UDA but we know that's a lie
They took me from my comrades. In death I am alone
But my spirit will live on in them wherever I am known
Fighting for our freedom
Fighting for my land
Destruction of our rulers
The cause is in our hands
We want to build democracy
We wanted to be free
Won't settle for a sell out
No British Colony
