My vote:
Imagine John Lennon
Imagine there's no Heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

He wrote and helped write plenty of leftist songs and songs on the Irish question. He and Paul McCartney brought out an album which was banned. It had songs on it like 'Give Ireland back to the Irish' and 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' along with others. I can't remember the name or year of it though. I'll have a look.

You want the ultimate? Here... www.seedstar.net/undeep/diggers.htmlIts actually a true story during the English revolution I believe. The Diggers were not Marxist communists (since Marx didnt even exist Duh.) but christian/catholic. There have been many versions, including one by the "Black Family". I personally think the one by DlCK GAUGHAN to be the best, followed by the Black family (not shown on that website) and then the original - shown on website. Very touching song (I even have a recorded tape in my car with it on it). IMO, better than John Lennons Imagine - and much much less known. Unfortunate really.
