Yes i was practicing my speeches when Scotland becomes a republic with me the president ;D. I didn't know the balcony was open to the public myself but inside you cant take pictures, only on the outside looking down over the square, theres a balcony just below where i was, it had bushes in front of you and the police below, the reason for that i don't know but maybe to stop making protests from that spot or jumping of to commit suicide in protest for something. I think its still in use but not sure, theres a big picture of chairman Mao right in the middle with Chinese writing on each side but in Beijing itself there are very few portraits anywhere of Mao. the camera is digital and 6 mega pixels so i have some great pics. PS went to the great wall yesterday and it was amazing, this is a must to see, never mind Spain for your hols etc, do what I'm doing, a culture, political backpacking adventure its better sitting on a beech and going clubbing at night full of boring cunts who just make a arse of them selfs.

;D, you said it comrade! If I had the money I would go travelling. Its probably one of the things that id put on my list of things that I think would make me happy. happiness is something thats hard to really find or to answer "what would really make me happy?" - seeing as being rich dosnt make people happy and having the house, the car, the wife and the children for many dosnt either. Its an endless pursuit, but I think travelling would. Wait till you see Jordan, when you get back youll be restless, youll want MORE, and to see more. Travelling is such a great feeling Me and a mate cycled around ireland there 2 years ago going clockwise from Dublin, took 2 weeks. when I got back I wanted to do more, and we planned to cycle around europe as we were restless. But the restlessness fades if you dont act on it, so when you get back home, act while you can. Hopefully the oil dosnt run out or an economic collapse in a couple of years otherwise ill never see the great wall of China or anything else for that matter. ;D

Make sure the memory on your camera dosnt waste before the end of your journey - or the batteries for that matter, I doubt they have many sockets in some of those arse of nowhere jungles your trekking through. ;D Oh, and keep safe - and a happy 2008 - or in Cambodia, year 40 or so since polpot set it back to Zero?

Just out of curiosity Jordan, so far, does it feel like your travels "flew in", dragged through or does it just feel about right? - time wise like.
