Comrades, I would like to draw people's attention to the Gardai and PSNI's increased profiling and constant harassment of Republicans, socialists, anarchists, communists and general political activists. As democrats, how do we respond to this harassment? How dare the state attack democracy like this? We have every right to protest peacefully and a duty to protest the injustices that exist today. This is a serious attack on our civil liberties and our right to organize peacefully. It is also a ruling class attack on the revolutionary working class and is obviously designed, along with media and ruling class propaganda, to slow the growth of left wing organizations and aims to deter the youth from getting involved. This can effect the growth of truly democratic organizations and call for a true democracy and we should not allow it to continue. What are people’s opinions on this? What action can we take and should we? Caoimhain Starry Plough Initiative theplough.proboards57.com/

Comrade,is this a personal observation or something else? I say that simply because i personally have not seen an increase in this activiy recently, granted it has always been there and is wrong, but do you think it has increased,if so its dangerous and something we should be vigilant to.
The Garda have a nasty history and id love to see a campaign showing this to the people, detailing what the garda and special branch in particular are here for. To uphold the status quo and protect the rich. republicans get an awfull time from them i know, maybe its time to fight back? Or are we wasting our time and energy?

Well I've noticed State Forces at anarchist rallies. Anarchists don't have any arms and aren't a direct or serious threat to the state. I've also noticed Gardai 'keeping an eye' on SWP members leafleting and canvasing for elections. Do they do that to FG, PD, FF, Labour members? Meanwhile drug wars are raging in Dublin and even some innocents are being killed as a result.
I know the IRSP have recently have been harassed by PSNI at recent pickets outside their own 'house' as it were and Fianna na hEireann members have had their houses raided and have been harassed at gatherings. This is the kind of thing I mean.

Would you suggest the people who are on the recieving end of this treatment go to the courts etc...?

I believe we're living in desperate times for right wing Governments and we will witness more and more desperation from Western Governments in the coming months and years I'm sure. It's prolly the fact that they call themselves socialist and Government attempts to smash dissent is growing.

Well i have heard whispers of some organization doing a campaign against the Garda corruption and harassment sometime soon. I'm not saying which one in case it doesn't materialize, but if it does it would be very interesting to watch and see what happens.

It will indeed! I think any organisation should have the right to question the motives and conduct of An Garda Siochana if they feel it nessecary though.

A STATEMENT BY COMRADE FLUFFY DRAGON,Spokesperson, Cymru Rydd, Welsh Republicans. The PSNI are nice coz Gerry's now the boss. They are NOT profiling, they're doing market research to see if we want to buy any of their services- double glazing, ex tanks for limousine parties painted pink. Hail the RIC, those great defenders of catholicism! The guardians of the the noble tradition of Republican Socialism! Hail to SF/RUC for seeing the errors of their ways and bowing to the inevitable- the English Crown and capitalist MUST win. After all, which other colony has been successful in pissing them off to the extent they go home? Only most of them. In Cymru, Special Branch are everywhere. Every Chief Constable in Cymru has once been a member of Special Branch, the Royal Protection Squad ( they do need protecting from the People though). Our Party, registered with the Electoral Commission and with a support base of 35,000 in the last All Wales Elections we fielded candidates in, has been systematically persecuted. Its former Leader has recanted his republican beliefs after threats from BPP and Red Watch (C18). The current Leader was interned for five days and finally charged with sending an offensive press release lol after enduring ridiculous accusations of recruiting and funding terrorism. One of our members was refused entry into Wales by English Special Branch in Bristol Airport, strip searched and held in solitary confinement for 9 hours. He was given a Schedule 7 Order- suspected links with terrorism. Why? he had a copy of the Communist Manifesto, a KGB Army belt and was studying for his exams so had a copy of the US Army Training Manual. He had come to visit Wales to plant daffodils on his grandfather's grave. Truly evil. Cymru Rydd Welsh Republicans is a democratic socialist and internationalist organization. We run a cultural Historical research group called Byddin Gwerinaethol Gymraeg- Welsh Republican Army which explores the history of republican socialism in Wales as expressed by Muddiad Amdiffyn Cymru (Movement for the Defence of Wales, Meibion Glyndwr, WRA and Free Wales Army, National Patriot Front). We have no weapons, other than the power of the workers, and have never engaged in illegal activity. MI6 have also been instrumental in orchestrating the arrest of our volunteers who attended an international conference in Singapore. The member was kept in a cage with faeces for 6 days, fed once a day on rice, refused access to British Consulate officials and made to sign a declaration stating that they would not engage in further political activity in Singapore. We could harp on and on about Blodau y Sul where 40 welsh republicans were arrested and all released with out charge. The arrest of members of Cymru Goch for oppsoing the visit of Elizabeth Windsor to Cymru. Its time for international solidarity, for Celtic solidarity. To this extent we have established a contact website with encrypted email facilities; recruitmentbear@hush.com www.freewebs.com/celticpeopleunited. Fe godwn ni eto! Kernow Bys Vykens!
