There have been numerous fire deaths in Bray because they do not have a full time fire service. These men were part-time fire men with kids and died because of lack of resources. Tributes Paid To Bray FiremenBooks of condolence will open today in Bray and Wicklow Town for the two firemen killed yesterday. Brian Murray (46), a father of 13, and Mark O'Shaughnessy (26) died while tackling a blaze at a disused factory on the Lower Dargle Road in Bray, Co Wicklow. It is understood that both men became trapped when the roof of the factory collapsed. A third firefighter was also injured in the fire. Three separate investigations into the incident have been launched by the Garda Síochána, the Health and Safety Authority and Wicklow County Council. Mr Murray and Mr O'Shaughnessy are the first firefighters to be killed in the Republic since 1936. Deaths could have been prevented says WidowThe widow of one of the firefighters who was killed yesterday has strongly criticised the lack of a full-time fire service in Bray. Mary Murray says the death of her husband was a needless waste and could have been prevented. 46-year-old Brian Murray, a builder who was married with a large family, and 26-year-old Mark O'Shaugnessy, who was single and worked with the Civil Defence, were both part-time firefighters and died while fighting a blaze in Bray. - www.rte.ie/news/2007/0927/bray.html?rss
