I have read in my local paper, unknownst to me Nick Griffin hosted a meeting near my area last week in which he announced his intention to make the 6 counties 'a primary target' for his election efforts. As there is NO anti-fascist movement in this area let alone a left wing one, I sincerely fear that where the BNP have failed in England they will succeed here due to the unchallenged environment. Also with the sectarian fervour drummed up the loyalist paramilitaries the protestant working class can only lap up the BNP's racist rhetoric with gusto. Hear me when I say I do not say this lightly. If any comrades near the area of North down happen to chance upon any BNP material, please inform me by PM. Perhaps together we can forge together a new movement of sane voice against this scum. I am only one person so what i can do is negligible and with the threat of violence against any dissenting voices i do not speak out lightly. In the meantime, if anyone can offer words of advice i would be very grateful. I am genuinely fearful right now. Source: www.geocities.com/irishafa/bnpulster.html

Comradai Is there not free movement within the E.U, how could they be allowed to hold any weight with such policies, and any immigration from refugees or asylum seekers would be as a result of people, like that shower in the first place., You would have to give them this much, while they oppose nearly every country in Europe and think themselves superior, on one hand while on the other they use the E.U parliment to achieve their goals, very smart and devious, will they succeed? no chance. keep safe

Comradai Is there not free movement within the E.U, how could they be allowed to hold any weight with such policies, and any immigration from refugees or asylum seekers would be as a result of people, like that shower in the first place., The brunt of the BNP's racism will be targeted at nationals from the developing world, especially africa and the islamic world. They are not covered by the 'umbrella of rights' that is the EU. You would have to give them this much, while they oppose nearly every country in Europe and think themselves superior, on one hand while on the other they use the E.U parliment to achieve their goals, very smart and devious, will they succeed? no chance. keep safe I can only assume you are very naive or uninformed about the political situation in the 6 counties. Loyalist paramilitaries are pretty much the be all and end all in their respective communities, and it is common knowledge that they have ties with british fascists such as the NF and C18. It would not take a great deal of campaigning for the BNP to get public consensus here. Anyway, for people who want to contribute, i am beginng to set up a new group, Please visit the blog and commit your solidarity. Thank you. northdownagainstfascism.blogspot.com/

Apologies for my lack of understanding, it's probably a bit of both. I could not even contemplate how i would feel in a similar situation.

UlsterSocialist, great to see you have started an anti-fasicst response in your area. I'll do all I can to help you spread the word. If you need any help let me know and I'll do my best to put some time aside for the cause.

I was just wondering would combat 18 be affiliated to the B.N.P? It would drive a man mad knowing that they think, they can come here and show racism towards other nationalities, from our Island, the blog was well done out, and brought some understanding to me, i am interested on keeping a watch on this situation and to find out more, can't really believe the arrogance of them.

i dont think C-18 are (theres as much sectarianism with the nazis as there is in the left) but it's a fact that the BNP try to hide that they do have connections with the NF. Andy McClorie, the BNP Ulster organiser served time for firebombing a cop's house when he was in the NF.
Papa. C, thank you for your words of support. VP and I may organise something, but right now i'm in a wee bit of a dead end where to go because I dont have the resources to publicise a campaign and theres not really anyone i can think of locally that would be ardently supportive enough to be vocal about it.
Ive attempted to e mail several Irish parties for their solidarity, including Sinn Fein and the IRSP but none of them have taken the time to reply to me. The amount of apathy is starting to concern me... I suppose all i can ask for the meantime is for everyone to keep your eyes open on the news in case the BNP attempt another stunt!

Keep the pressure up on the IRSM forum if they havent replied yet comrade. You don't have to be pushy, but i do think a reply would be courtious.

Having a web site dedicated to it is a good step. There's plenty of info on there and at least people know there is an opposition in that specific area. I think we should concentrate on trying to get people to the web site for starters. I'll post it on myspace a few times and link to it.
