Bob Doyle, the last surviving member of the Connolly Column of the International Brigades, has died aged 97.
Sad news. I recommend his biography "Brigadista". A very diverse and full life he had, and a true inspiration. I suppose there's a vindication for Bob and Tony in that the system they so opposed throughout their life, which had for a short period seemed could only go from strength to strength, is now falling appart, leaving a new open class struggle and a new consciousnessto emerge.
