You could say that about the band Rage Against the Machine aswell because all their merchantise has Che's image on them, but they also made a lot of people think (including mysef) and built up the leftist movement. Che's image has become a symbol of working class strength and it needs to be out there.
It the t-shirts were made and printed through the use of child labour I'd agree with you!

But some don't hyke up their prices. Especially with PCs as you can get second-hand ones rebuilt to 'as new' quality, but I know what you mean. So yeah lol.

It would be great if the chestore was a charity for socialist causes. I am unsure, all of the che items I own are either from Cuba or Vietnam. As for shirts I have made some myself. Something that makes me sick is companies that sell che as a marketing tool. If they are not a socialist institute do not mock che with that insult. His daughter has a patent on his image and is fighting the production of all che item. She proposes that only Cuba or it's socialist allies may produce any che product. I agree. if you want anything che that is truely an honor to him buy it from Cuba, they use the money to support the people. oh one last note this che-mart website makes mock shirts of che and fidel. I'd like to shove a pipe up the ass of whoever runs it and pour in smelted lead. ;D

I think the production of the "che" image has its good and bad points.
I think that if capitalist companies were not able, or were not allowed to produce items with the image, then theyd just find some other figure to promote - bobby sands, ghandi?.
Its not as if Che is the only thing that sells, but rather, anything they promote would pretty much sell -they make it a brand.
Stopping the che image from being used free and easy would mean less people would know about him and his politics, and so, IMO, it wouldnt be a good idea.
How can his daughter have the copyright of the image when it was a photographer, unrelated, who took the image? Interesting all the same.

the photographer who took that picture was Alberto Korda, the image was never used by him for the shirt. He and Che share the rights to it. Her is dead now. It was an Italian who first made that image famous. There was a whole article on his daughter's legal battle. She is for the use of the image by anyone who is a che fan, but doesn't want mass marketing of her father's legacy. I think that there are plenty of good places to get the shirts o items that don't contribute to capitalist profits.

Copyright is not flouted if it is deemed "fair use" che would say we could use it for promoting "Marxist Communism" ideals, or Cuban ideals. That's fair.
Imagine the capitalist and their governments making on a sale? That's certainly not fair use and should be treated with contempt. He gave his life for freedom from capitalist exploitation.
Respect Ernesto!
