Chomsky is a Professor of Linguistic at MIT, who has been a Leftist Activist for all of his Adult life. He is a strong Critique of American Foreign Policy, Government led Terrorism and Imperialism in General. He is very good at counter-arguments against right wing propaganda that has been burned into the minds of the public.
He has written extensively on how ‘democratic’ Governments control the public mind through the media etc… and also on the class structure of society.
Even though he is in favour of the eventual destruction of governmental structures in society, he seems to be very aware of the morality of his arguments and his writings are incredibly thought provoking. He comes out with some very valuable 'cannon fodder' for us Lefties against ridiculous and regurgitated right-wing arguments.
It’s worth reading his work. There’s a lot of it, take your time as he is infamous for putting a lot of information in a very small space! …but don’t let that put you off as his work is way too interesting. I’ve posted more information on the ‘who is Noam Chomsky’ thread. Also if you search the likes of Limewire or Kazza you should find some of his speeches on Cuba, Iraq and other interesting topics.
